Read to Succeed
What is Read to Succeed?
To bolster the support available to young readers in their early literacy journey, Read to Succeed places volunteers in K-5 classrooms across Tippecanoe County every year. Volunteers match with a local teacher and join their classroom for at least one hour a week for the duration of the academic year.
Getting involved is easy!
- Explore classroom volunteer opportunities at uwlafayette.org/letsread.
- When you find the classroom that sounds best for you, sign up! We might contact you for additional information to process a limited background check. This is standard operating procedure and nothing to be alarmed by!
- Connect with your teacher to set your weekly schedule. If for any reason you’d like to explore a new placement, contact us and we’ll help you out.
- When your teacher is ready for you to join their classroom, start volunteering! We ask that volunteers commit to their classroom for a semester or the full academic year, volunteering at least one hour a week.
