Mrs. Szymanski's Classroom

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Szymanski

Mrs. Szymanski

Welcome to my page!  Thanks for visiting!  I live in Lafayette with my husband, John, and our two daughters Elizabeth and Rachel (oh, and our pet fish whose name is constantly changing.....by our girls, not my husband or me!).

I was born in Lafayette, moved away for several years, and then came back to West Lafayette for high school and have been in West Lafayette/Lafayette ever since.  I attended Harrison High School in West Lafayette but am now proud to call myself a Broncho!  I then went on to attend Purdue University and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in reading.  During my first few years of teaching I took classes at Purdue to earn a Master's Degree in Literacy and Language Education (basically a fancy title for reading).

This is my 15th year of teaching (the last 14 of which have been with Lafayette School Corporation). I have taught in many different grades/positions including kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, library/computer lab, and Title I reading/math intervention. I love working with young children to help them learn and to be the best person they can be!
